Founder & MD Gen Ford MBA
GEN FORD first found that her flair for 'fixing' and leading successful, sustainable organisational change was valued while an Officer in the Australian Regular Army. She developed and honed her techniques in leadership roles with Melbourne Pathology, Mayne and Bonlac Foods. After 15 years of corporate trouble-shooting and project leadership, Gen established Ithaca in early 2001.
From the beginning Ithaca was engaged by a range of blue-chip, corporate and government clients including, among others, Carter Holt Harvey, CSL Pharmaceuticals, various NHS Trusts, Skanem A/S and TNT.
Ithaca focused on designing and delivering projects delivering very significant improvements in cutting cost and building value. They did this through the application of an approach that was integrated, process-oriented and holistic. Without exception Ithaca's approach dramatically and sustainably improved service levels, built value and reduced cost.
As well as growing Ithaca’s independent consulting offering, Gen takes an active interest in sponsoring independent business-focused research, supervises Masters thesis students and lecturing post-graduate students at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology ( RMIT) University. She has just completed writing a post-graduate course on holistic supply chain strategy and operations.
In recognition of her expertise, Gen is regularly invited to speak on business process optimisation and supply chain strategy at major conferences throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.
Gen's interests outside of work include travel, photography and rambling.
